Post subject: city inspections of private residences

I bought a bank owned home in April of 08 and this month (March) 09 I received a a letter from the health dept.stating that due to some violation in 2007 I needed to get an inspection of my home by the city of warren. Now that's not the best of it . Although they couldn't tell me of the specific violation, one gentleman said it was because the home was vacant for a time. When I asked how to go about getting an inspection done they informed me that I needed to pull a building permit and that 5 inspectors would be out to inspect my home at a cost of 200.00 dollars. When I bought the home I had a private inspector and FHA inspected it to , so my question is why do I have to do this again and is it even lawful?
